We just received an excellent question from a new customer that we enjoyed answering so much, we realized that there would be others who would also benefit from reading our answer.
This customer asked, “Just wondering when a person would start noticing changes to their gums? I know everyone is different, but what are the quickest results you have ever heard?”
So, we chose to answer the part about quickest results first, then go into more detail regarding when a person will start noticing positive changes to their oral health. Here is our answer to this excellent question…
Thank you for reaching out to us with this excellent question! Let’s jump right in…
First, we have heard many customers comment that they felt their gums being less swollen, teeth less sensitive, etc. within a few days of beginning to use our blend. However, that’s not always the case. We have had a handful of customers who have returned our product to us stating they didn’t benefit from using it. So, what’s the difference? Why would some people find such vast and fast benefit and others find no benefit at all?
I think the answer could have many factors involved. I’ll explain…
The first factor is awareness.
The extent to which a person focuses their attention on what’s going on in their mouth will determine if they notice benefit or not. This is why we strongly believe that for anyone who really wants positive change in their oral health, the first step is to get to know what’s going on in your own mouth. We created our OraWellness Mouth Map as a free download on our site so anyone who would like to navigate to greater oral health can do so simply by downloading the mouth map for free and taking 20 minutes to fill it out.
Here’s a link to an article where you can download the mouth map and access instructions on how to fill it out: The first step of dental self-empowerment
Like we state on the mouth map, if we don’t know where we are, how can we determine whether or not we are heading in the right direction? I like the example of going into a new shopping mall. What’s the first thing you look for on the map of the mall? The red ‘You are here’ arrow, right? Once we know where we are, we can set a course to go where we want to go.
So, if a person really wants to create positive change in their oral health, filling out the OraWellness Mouth Map will provide them a dated record of what they found in their own mouth. At that point, they have the ‘You are here’ arrow. Now they can do whatever they are going to do, use our product, another product, oil pulling, whatever they choose to apply to see if that particular action will help them. And in 3 months, they can fill out the mouth map again and quantitatively determine whether the actions they have taken over the past 3 months have helped or not. They will either see improvement or not. It’s very straightforward.
Why not just use a dentist’s chart?
While a dental chart is helpful, we are focused on empowering individuals with strategies, tools, and most importantly, the mindset which will help them navigate to greater oral health. We have found that filling out the OraWellness Mouth Map yourself and getting familiar with your own mouth empowers you. It helps you to really know what’s going on, and ideally positions you as the best person to initiate positive change.
The second factor is how a person is using our products.
If a person simply puts a couple drops on their brush and maintains the common unconscious brushing habits we all were raised with, they will see less benefit than if they apply the HealThy Mouth Blend consciously in the various ways we encourage customers to use our blend. In other words, our blend helps a person navigate to greater oral health. We know this to be true. That said, it’s up to each of us to understand how to use the blend to best support ourselves along our path to greater oral health. We have made a video tutorial showing several ways to use the blend and which strategies work for certain situations.
Here’s a link to the free video tutorial showing how to use the HealThy Mouth Blend.
The last factor is the individual’s current level of oral health.
Where a person finds themselves on the continuum between terrible and stellar oral health also impacts what changes they experience. If while filling out your Mouth Map you find that you have no areas of swollen, tender gum tissue, no sensitivity on teeth roots, no recession, and no bleeding gums when consciously flossing, then you won’t see the same amount of change as someone who has more signs of imbalance in their mouth. That said, many of our happy customers do have awesome oral health and simply want a high-quality oral hygiene product that contains ingredients to help them keep their stellar oral health. Sure, they enjoy the fresh breath our blend helps to create, but they aren’t going to see the more drastic changes that someone with obvious signs of stress and infection will see.
I think this addresses the question fully. Now it’s your turn. 🙂 What are you finding in your own mouth? What do you currently have going on in your mouth that you would like to see shift to a more positive direction? What are you doing to create positive change?
We hope this helps you navigate to greater oral health. 🙂

I have been using your Healthy Mouth producy for 4 months and have never used toothpaste since=it freshens the mouth and feels good-I read your article about using flosser sticks and I did try using a stick called Piksters, a spiral head in various thhicknesses-I place 3 drops of healthy mouth solution on the palm of the hand and dip the pikster into the solution each time, before putting it brtween teeth-is this also a no no? I clean my teeth with the peroxide and salt solution, gargle with the remaining solution and then floss with the solution-it all feels good and clean and I think it is helping-I brush my teeth with the bass brush which I dip into solution and then brush-when you pour it on the brush it sinks to the bottom, and I feel its brings better results dipping the brush-In another 2 months I will have a dental test to check the pocket depths
Thank you for a good, natura product.

I’ve been using your Healthy Mouth Blend for about 3 months and have found that several areas of gum sensitivity have lessened. Thank you for this product.
Do you have any recommendations to safely whiten teeth at home?

I can see why someone might give up on the program to the point of returning the wellness blend from my own initial experience. First, I was disappointed because I expected instant results, and my gum continued to bleed the first couple of days. Secondly, about 10 days into the program, my gums became super sensitive on one outside quadrant. They were very sore, and I thought they might be having a reaction to the wellness blend, or else, it wasn’t doing any good. At this time, I cut back on the treatment on that area, and cut out acidic foods that might irritate them, while trying to eat well, etc. It cleared right up and has been doing great. One thing, I was overdoing the applicator using a salt solution that at the time was too strong. Everything is improved now and my gums are no longer sensitive, and I’ve had only one other time when there looked like there may be gum bleeding, although I have a specific serious “problem area” (chronic gum abcess, very deep pockets). I’ve been on this program for a little less than a month, but believe there has been a big improvement overall and plan to continue. Actually looking forward, for the first time in my life, to my next dental cleaning and exam in two more months.

Aloha Rosemary,
Thank you for your comments here. I think you are right on the mark with having too salty of the blend for the pocket applicator. That can definitely irritate the gum tissue. We look forward to your ‘after the dental visit’ testimonial! 🙂

I agree with the response by OrawWellness. I would like to add the following response. I was experiencing difficulty with my gums receding and had great oral health with my use of the Oral B, waterpik, and flossing regularly. Dentists were giving me frightening options and appeared devastated looking in my mouth. I had no idea that there was some inflammation, but my gums were not that almost translucent pink color. It wasn’t a major change overnight, but using the brushing blend and the Bass toothbrush, my gums got stronger and the color turned to the beautiful pink shade. My teeth were whiter, my breath was fresher, and my over all regimen for heal was simplified. I tossed my oral B and Sonic Care brushes permanently. I use only the Bass toothbrush. Follow how to brush on the OraWellness website. I made my own tooth powder and use the brushing blend as the binder. I put a drop of brushing blend on my floss, and I gargle with a drop in my water. I also use the stainless tongue scraper. Needless to say, on my next dental visit, I was complimented on my beautiful smile and healthy mouth. Positive changes are not always instantly apparent, however you are heading in the right direction if you maintain confidence in this product as I have. In addition, the resources and information provided by OraWellness has allowed me to maintain a family of beautiful smiles! Thank you OraWellness. Good luck user!
